About the Artist

Mae Kenny is a New England-based artist born and raised in the Lakes Region of New Hampshire and currently residing in Maine. She received a Bachelors of Fine Arts majoring in sculpture. Her work has been exhibited at 49 Oak St, Fort Gorges in the Portland Maine Harbor, multiple exhibitions at the Maine College of Art & Design,  the AVA Gallery in Lebanon, New Hampshire, Long Woods Preserve in Cumberland Maine, and The Gallery at Jimmy’s in Portsmouth, NH. Mae is fascinated by experimenting with a variety of materials such as plaster, paper, metal, fabric, wood, wax, and foam. She is currently obsessed with the process of casting/mold making and loves the magic of a good iron pour. Mae has a passion for creating large-scale works and site-specific installations as well as learning about the history and context of the environments in which she works. She also greatly enjoys the performing arts and getting to be on stage in various theatrical productions.
